Navigating the Breach

NavTheBreach

My first draft of COMPENDIUM is almost complete. I have over 90,000 words written. I will likely finish the first draft in the next couple of weeks, but I have taken a break to write up a book proposal for a new non-fiction book that I have conceived titled NAVIGATING THE BREACH: AN ENTERPRISE GUIDE TO PROTECTING YOUR COMPANY BEFORE AND AFTER A DATA SECURITY INCIDENT. This title is obviously not a novel. I don’t talk much on this blog about my day job, but I am an attorney that practices primarily in corporate law and data privacy law. I decided that it was time for me use my knowledge in data privacy law to reach a broad audience (besides just my clients) and provide them with practical, helpful information. I’m currently shopping my proposal to agents, but even if it does not sell to a publisher, I plan to bring the book to market myself. This topic is incredibly timely, and I believe the information is important to businesses of every size. If I could give this information away, I would, but it takes time and energy and dedication to build this knowledge and research and develop the content. It is very rewarding knowing that it could make a difference to people struggling with fear over whether they are doing enough to protect their user data. Anyway, that is my news de jour.
